What will the outcome be March 4th for Senator Hillary Clinton? Watch Tonight’s Debates. Tues. Feb. 26th, 08′

So, I am back on the Blog again. Just a little something to think about once you read it.

So wouldn’t Hilary Clinton be served better in her campaign to pick a lane, better yet get back to her lane? By pick a lane I mean that she should either go after Barack Obama’s neck i.e. let’s call it the 50 Cent maneuver, or she should just not even mention or acknowledge Barack Obama; just keep all her press and her speeches squarely focused on all the good she has done and wants to do and leave out any mention of the competition. She has to run her race and make him to try play her game on her level, i.e. the Jay Z maneuver. No playing the fence or bouncing back and forth it makes the campaign look unstable and frustrated or even unsure of itself and not focused on their message. So, you either destroy your opponent or you ignore them like an annoying flea not worth your time.

After talking with a few people, our general consensus is that somewhere along this journey the Clinton Campaign got derailed and is now struggling to get back on track. That is an obvious observation, but let me just say it again; derailed!!! Is it impossible to do? Nothing is impossible and I have repeatedly been an advocate of this train of thought. I was raised in the “School of CAN DO”. You have to fundamentally believe and make it so in your mind first to make the idea a matter of reality. The numbers may look bad for her as she has an obvious uphill battle ahead of her going into the crucial March 4th contest, however nothing is impossible. If the campaign refocuses their efforts on her and her message as opposed to going for the jugular of Senator Obama there is no doubt Clinton could make amazing headway. She needs to go after his record and leadership ability; the credible things that matter to voters.

With that said the Democratic Party is missing a golden opportunity with an Obama-Clinton ticket. The DNC is not functioning or looking at the “BIG PICTURE” and long-term planning. If Hillary Clinton does not get the nomination will Barack Obama offer her vice presidency? One would assume he would, but does it do him or his presidential bid any good in the general election? In my mind I don’t think he will offer it to her, but if Hillary Clinton gets the nomination does she offer it to Barack Obama? Think about it; if you put the egos aside then where does the value land for each candidate? I will give you one point, adding Hilary Clinton to Obama’s ticket will give the campaign enough cover to get out of public provided funds for the general elections that Obama and McCain agreed too, because guess what; if Clinton lands on the ticket she will never let that happen. Who wouldn’t mind seeing Hillary in the number two spot, as apposed to not on the ticket at all, and more importantly, with Clinton in the number two seat that is taking the politically correct leash so both can go after the Republican nominees in the general election on such a level that would be worth it, good cop(Obama), bad cop(Clinton). I can not even imagine what the Clinton camp has in their war chest, and what they’re planning to unleash on whoever receives the Republican nomination.

Now look at this potential scandal going on with John McCain and this Washington lobbyist he supposedly has had a fling or relationship with for favors. For favors? Are you all serious? He was supposedly writing letters and making movements for her on behalf of her clients at the lobbyist firm she was employed by. Have we forgot about Bill Clinton’s situation, why is it these Republicans go for the jugular and do not let the Democratic political figures get a way with anything, and they are quick to have people removed either through court proceedings or by public outcry. Every time one of these Republicans does something similar or worse (going to war without the approval of the congress) our party gives half ass quotes of no real sting, and we take no action to remove people. I know what the problem is and we all see it. How can the DNC focus if we can not even get our supporters together in one coalition?

Follow the news look at the bread crumbs, the New York Times story about Senator McCain was exactly what the Right needed and that was a common enemy that would make it OK to support John McCain within the Republican hierarchy (I mean freaking Rush Limbaugh was almost nice to McCain when he took to the airwaves the day after the New York Times story broke and I thought the world stopped spinning on its axis). Republican Party nominee is going to be John McCain, Republicans have for the most part come to accept this fact and now they are mounting their offensive against the Democratic campaign.

Lastly, lets all welcome back “The Spoiler” Ralph Nader who we can all jointly thank for the last seven years. He announced he is running for his presidency; again. This is good for the Republican Party but bad for the Democrats. Don’t you love how Ralph Nader thinks this entire process is some sort of joke and I am going to say it now: Anyone that votes or donates to Ralph Nader is simply giving the White house right back to the Republicans. He can not win and if nothing else is for sure in this political process that is for sure. It will not happen. But, this should be yet another concern for the DNC in the general elections because if memory serves me correctly didn’t Al Gore lose in 2000 by less than 600 votes in Florida? No on Ralph Nader.

The DNC better get focused real quick and I mean immediately, because nothing is for sure (Al Gore was certain to win in 2000; look how quickly we all forget). Get the ticket together before the DNC convention in August and spend these upcoming months raising funds, putting the joint democratic ticket together structurally on the ground to win in the general election. We as democrats and Americans should not just want a small win or slight win; we should want to send a clear message to the Republican Party; the American people will not go unheard.

Someone asked me what I thought about a Louis Farrakhan endorsement. I read the transcript and it was not an endorsement, but of course it was spun that way by certain media outlets in order to try and scuff Barack Obama’s general public appeal.

I say it every time and this is no different; Get out there and vote, volunteer and most importantly DONATE. Donations help your candidate spread their message. Make your voice heard and your dollars felt. This historical election matters!!

30 minutes later, there you have it; my two cents. The political junkie is at it again. Tune in tonight for the last Democratic Debate before the March 4th contest. This should be interesting!

Obama, Clinton, 50th Grammy Awards, MAGIC Convention, 50 Cent, Thank You’s and Everything Else.. Fri. Feb. 15th, 08′

Before I even get started, I have to take a moment to personally thank everyone that came out yet again in support of our promotion for DJ Whoo Kid, G-Unit Radio, Shadyville and Lil Kim for the Queen Bee’s first ever mix-tape “Ms. G.O.A.T.” (NEW LIL KIM ALBUM COMING SOON) at Element Hollywood on Saturday, January 26th. The level of support from our city, friends, associates and colleagues is very humbling and never taken for granted. We understand that you all have multiple party options living here in the “City of Angels”, especially in the Hollywood club scene. Again it is very humbling and appreciated that you all turn out each and every time and continue to spread the word and help push this Shadoworld movement. So, directly from me and the entire Shadoworld organization to all of you that take the time out to read this entry, THANK YOU VERY MUCH. YOUR SUPPORT IS APPRECIATED!!!

Feel free to check out the video footage from the party at Element on the Shadoworld HOME page, scroll down to the bottom VIDEOS section. Packed house, wall to wall bodies, super hot and sexy night and a few lucky individuals received copies of the mix-tape.

Ok, so the entire staff is back in Los Angeles. Fresh from a quick run to Las Vegas aka “Sin City” for the incredible 2008 MAGIC Fashion show (Men’s Apparel Guild of California convention). MAGIC is the largest fashion convention in the world; it puts the fashion designers new and old directly in front of all the corporate and retail buyers from around the world in order to generate sales of the designers new lines. Everyone is back and we are back in grind mode. Gearing up for some Hot Import Nights tour dates, more G-Unit Records/ Shadyville and THISIS50.COM promotional projects, squaring away the Shadoworld Records website ( www.shadoworldrecords.com ) finally in the coming days after a several unforeseeable delays, more promotional parties, more advance movie screenings and getting this Ahrae freshmen LP “Theory 74 A” in the perfect pocket of completion and release. At the end of the day, the music is what drives us; the excitement of this next phase of Shadoworld that has been in the careful planning for sometime and now we head out down that path for the world to hear, see and feel.

So, it has been a minute since I posted a Blog entry and in that time a lot has happened in our world. Senator Barrack Obama continues to out perform all media and national polls expectations (8 in a row and he swept my old stomping grounds in the Potomac Primary), with some additional major contests on the horizon between Tuesday and March 4th. But you can’t count out Hillary Clinton and the former President Bill Clinton machine, because Hillary took California and looks like she is positioned to snag Texas, Ohio and Pennsylvania too in the coming weeks. The Writers Guild of America and Directors Guild of America ironed out their new contract ending the strike, putting everyone back to work officially this week in Hollywood. The 50th Annual Grammy Awards were held out here in Los Angeles last weekend, so Los Angeles was flooded with some of the music industry’s biggest and brightest stars and executives (minus 50 Cent, who passed on the Awards to do some charitable work for Floyd Mayweather’s charitable organization). Speaking of 50 Cent, he and Chris Lighty launched a new film production company at the Sundance Film Festival and he dissolved his partnership with Ecko Unlimited for his G-Unit Clothing and his www.thisis50.com just keeps growing at leaps and bounds adding more and more people everyday. Quietly look for a re-launch of G-Unit Clothing coming soon. Major League Soccer announced the 2008 soccer season schedule on the 14th, so look out for a new and upgraded Chivas USA team under the helm of President & CEO Stephen Hunter. Go Chivas! I am sure there are many other things going on, but I just really focus on things that play into our world and this Shadoworld master plan.

Lots of political head way being made just about every hour towards what will be one of the most historical general elections in the history of this country.

Let me take a minute just to touch on the African American vote, from the top of the Super Delegates to the blue collar African American vote. Boy, it is very interesting that as soon as Barack Obama started to perform you see a lot of prominent, pro Clinton elected officials jumping ship for team Obama. I mean John Lewis did the 180 from team Clinton to Obama. Hey, can’t go against your voters in your district. Keep your job.

Tavis Smiley just went off on Senator Obama and his wife about Senator Obama declining Tavis’s invitation for his Black Union symposium next Saturday February 23rd out in New Orleans, mind you Hillary is the only presidential candidate running that has accepted. What most media outlets view as a controversy, I see as yet another strategic move on part of the Obama campaign and the Clinton campaign. On Barack’s end of it, what does he gain?? The African American vote is in his corner, the exit polls in every contest to date show this fact with hard numbers so the base of the Democratic Party is rallying to him and that is the African American voters. He needs to attend this symposium to talk to us again why?? His message is obviously reaching African American voters, because he is winning that vote. Strategically Obama campaign needs to focus on these next few contests and I personally think Tavis getting so up in arms about the supposed snub is unnecessary. Part of it might be an issue of Tavis wanting to remain a strong political commentator i.e. a national political go to figure and force within the African American community and voters. But, I must say Tavis Smiley throughout his rise within the African American community and national stage has been a student of the political game and has been a regular solid and objective voice for Black America within the mainstream media, extremely insightful with his finger on the pulse of African American concerns, plights and problems. So, his obvious irritation behind the snub by Senator Obama is very interesting to me because it seems outside of his character to take it personal. Shouldn’t someone as astute as Tavis Smiley see the larger picture?? The big win, the general election win, the White House win, the Presidency, not the catering to the African American voters Senator Obama seems to already have, but the catering to the American vote as a whole. Because as I have repeatedly said it will take more than the African American vote to win in the general election in this historic race.

Now Hillary Clinton attending Tavis’s symposium is critical to her, because of previous miscalculations with her campaign strategy as it pertains to the African America vote. Which once not to long ago Hillary was all but guaranteed to receive the democratic nominations, I mean anyone that says anything different is lying to themselves. But, the Clinton’s base within the African American community has seen better days, I mean again look at the exit polls. But, her saving grace is that the Clinton’s are not afraid to fight down to the wire and the last vote. She has taken the loses and kept it moving. Now she is refocused and geared up to bring her voice directly to a base that they possibly took for granted by attending Tavis’s event next weekend. Hilary might be able to mend some bridges that might have been damaged with some, not all but some within the African American community. For Clinton, she needs any and every opportunity to speak to these voters and remind them all again why they supported her before tidal wave Obama came crashing down. When the chips are down you have to go after every vote and what better way for her to accomplish this task, than to sit down with Tavis Smiley in front of African American voters on a nationally televised platform. Reminding them of her support of our community throughout all her and her husband’s years in public service as well as her and her husband’s on going support of our community. So, it makes sense for her to attend and make her argument heard and maybe try to bring some of that African American voters back to the Clinton camp, plus Hillary seems to seriously be carrying the Hispanic vote as evident by the final decision here in California. The unknown factor, which is intriguing at best to me with the Hispanic vote because a lot of this upcoming election will fall to their participation in the process and their votes have been falling to Senator Clinton.

Now I know I am not saying anything a lot of you obviously are observing and seeing is going on behind the scenes. But, the media loves to blow a lot of things out of proportion and in the case of Tavis Smiley issue, I think each campaign is playing this invitation beautifully.

Now I do want to say this to every African American leader, columnist and media agent. Let’s stop screaming racism for the love of God. I mean every time anyone says anything negative about Senator Obama you hear it. Yes, Barack Obama is African American, but guess what he needs to earn the Democratic nomination and that means part of the process is being attacked and being able to take the attacks without the shield of the “Race Card”. Unless someone starts throwing around the “N” word or other racial slurs, just let it go. Because guess what, you baby the campaign now and keep using the “Race Card” as coverage at every turn over the littlest things or these code word comments will end up doing damage to the campaign. Mark my words, let the attacks come, let the democratic candidates rip each other apart. Barack should not have to hold his critiques of Senator Clinton because she is a woman or the first credible woman candidate to run no more than the Clintons or the media should have to pussy foot around the Obama campaign for fear of being called a racist or hate mongers. Give me a freaking break, these two are running for the most powerful office in the world. The WORLD people, so I think we all owe to ourselves to let them earn it and let the attacks come and come hard. We will know if any gender or race lines are truly and intentionally crossed. So, let them fight it out. Because guess what the Republicans are absolutely going to bring the rain in the general contest, if he wins the presidency the rest of the world is not going to play nice with him because he is black so let whoever gets the democratic nomination be tested right now before the general contest and before we take back the White House.

But, I say again and my position remains the same. Clinton-Obama, Obama-Clinton ticket gives us a solid 16 year run and that is what the United States needs and more importantly what the Democratic Party needs in order to implement some real national change. You see the Republicans are rallying and pulling resources to get behind their inevitable candidate Senator John McCain right now, McCain who recently gained endorsements from George Bush Sr., Governor Arnold Schwarnager, Rudolph Giuliani and Mitt Romney. They are getting their troops in line, unifying their party and gearing up for the real contest. The Democratic Party has the voters turning out in record numbers, so we have the foot soldiers in place now the big game play is locking up the White House for the next quarter of a century. Obama-Clinton, Clinton-Obama, DNC 25 year reign.

An there is my two cents, thirty minutes later another personal view from yours truly. Very interesting year ahead of us all. So, be active, get involved locally nationally or whatever works best for you and do not follow status quo. Go with the candidate and the PARTY that best represents your personal needs and beliefs. Be singular individuals and not sheep to the slaughter. Volunteer, donate and spread the word.

Be sure to check us out on the 2008 Hot Import Nights Tour, which starts Saturday March 8th I believe in San Mateo and keep checking out the websites for more new exclusive videos, Shadoworld related news, movie promotions as we head into the 08’ Spring and Summer blockbuster release schedule (The Dark Knight, Indiana Jones and The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, Hancock, Wanted, The Happening, Dragon Ball, Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Speed Racer, Meet The Browns, X-Files 2, The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor, Hellboy 2, Babylon AD, Righteous Kill, etc. HUGE POTENTIAL SUMMER BOX OFFICE and I can not wait) from the studios and tons of other BIG SHADOWORLD ANNOUCEMENTS. The music is coming and coming soon, praise God.

Again, thank you for all your feedback and support of our many efforts. Keep spreading the word, Shadoworld is the movement, Shadoworld is the army, Shadoworld is the future.

Until next time Ladies and Gentlemen. It’s a Shadoworld thing!!!

Losing and Acknowledging a friend… Thurs., Oct. 25th, 2007

Thursday, November 25th, 2007. So, I am a late worker and many of my friends on the east coast know this, hence I reply to e-mails almost 24 hours a day. Late last night I received an e-mail from a lifelong friend, as I began to read her e-mail my jaw hit the floor; I am in absolute shock yet again. Eric Cooper; a high school friend was gunned down in our hometown. Eric was the father of five children, and an accomplished business owner. I can only imagine what his family is going through this morning, thus my thoughts and prayers are with them all.

My hometown is very small and everyone knows each other, I am sure this matter will be dealt with in very swift manner (one way or another). I had not seen, or spoken to Eric since I left Harrisburg, PA many moons ago; however when I personally suffered a fate similar to his Eric made it a point to keep me in his prayers. I am blessed that the lord allowed me to live and learn, thus I was fortunate that my situation was not fatal. Needless to say this entire episode has jogged my memory and made me remember to give thanks to God that I was given a second lease on life. Eric was not so fortunate and I am beyond saddened by the loss of yet another friend in my life to hand gun violence.

As details of his MURDER are still being sent to me, I am in a place of disbelief because from city to city the level of gun related deaths within the African American community against mainly African American men of which I am one, is beyond alarming nationwide. 52% of gun homicide victims are African-America males between the ages of 15 and 24 (this is the highest firearm homicide rate of any demographic group and African Americans only represent less than 13% of the total US population). I am not negating any other ethnic community that also deals with this senseless mess; however, this is affecting and destroying households around the world.

Mothers, daughters, sons, fathers, cousins, wives, husbands, children, everyone and at what point do we in our individual homes first say “enough is enough” and then as individual communities say “enough is enough”. Life is fragile and should be respected and cherished, not taken for granted. An the lost of my friend last night, shows the loss of two lives because the shooter is looking a life in prison, death penalty or someone catching this person on a street level before the police do and repeating this deadly cycle in exacting revenge.

The upcoming 2008 presidential election makes this a perfect time for all Americans to let their voices be heard and make change. We can all grow up and place blame where it truly belongs, instead of trying to use a scapegoat such as the Hip Hop community or Hollywood (these are tactics of distraction by the powers that be to keep us all pointing the finger and oblivious to the gun manufactures and our own government in the policing off firearms and the manufactures). If all rappers stop painting the pictures of their lives in their songs tomorrow and Michael Mann (director of HEAT, Collateral, Miami Vice) refused to use guns in any of his movies again, these gun manufactures would still continue to profit off of firearms sales, and the government and politicians would continue to make making silly, ineffective laws and unbalanced punishments behind firearm crimes. Make your voices heard, in this upcoming 2008 election and stand up and vote accordingly. Every single vote counts; Let us not forget how we ended up with George Bush Jr. over Al Gore in the first place for eight years. Every single person’s vote makes the difference. Yes, I firmly believe in the Second Amendment (Right to Bear Arms) of our Constitution. But, I believe some corporations and individuals take full advantage of this right. My point is in the unbalanced legislation of gun control and enforcement.

I know I am off my point slightly in this blog, however Eric’s untimely passing is yet another reminder that we can not just allow ourselves, nor matters of this sort to be chalked up as part of being a young African American man in America; like the cost of being a black man in America is to one day face death at the hands of another brother. I live in a high level of constant readiness and awareness in order to survive.

This is a little heavy for being only my second BLOG here and might be a little too personal for some in this forum which is more so for company related things, but guess what I say to that??? It is my company, my website, so I can talk about whatever the devil I want and today I wanted to acknowledge my childhood friend, his family, his kids and all our mutual friends that lost someone that touched all our lives in a positive manner over something so senseless.

Eric, you will be missed, but never forgotten. Again my thoughts and prayers are with all his family and our mutual friends back in Harrisburg, PA.
